Sagar moved to the United States during his senior year of high school. While, Anshu was a born and raised a Jersey Girl.
In high school, Sagar was shy and reserved while Anshu was a prankster and a very talkative person. Sagar and Anshu ended up in the same gym class together. Anshu noticed Sagar and one of his other friends in gym class. She randomly decided to approach them to talk for few minutes thinking she was super friendly! It may have been that she was just an annoying girl that wouldn't go away! They didn't know a few years later at Rutgers they would become best friends!
Sagar and Anshu confessed their feelings for each other their Junior year. They decided to go out in NYC for a comedy show. He finally asked her out on the red stairs at Times Square!
Sagar invited Anshu to a dinner in NYC. Towards the end of dinner at Kittichai, Anshu said let's get dessert! Sagar said no not here, lets go our favorite cupcake place Sprinkles!
They took a cab to Times Square and he led her to the red illuminating staircase where he first asked her out. Anshu was confused and in shock. She saw her and Sagar's friends sitting around and kept twirling in circles trying to make sense of what was happening.
Sagar grabbed her and told her how much he loves her and that he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. As the violinist continued to play Tum Hi Ho, he got down on one knee, asked her to marry her, and she said YES!
