HOW TO GET THERE
On arrival to Ibiza, take a 10-minute taxi to the Port of Ibiza town to catch your ferry to Formentera!
Trasmapi, Balearia, and Pitiusa are the three main ferry companies which operate a combined 90 daily sailings between Ibiza and Formentera with departures almost every 30 minutes between 7am and 11pm.
For maximum flexibility we recommend to purchase your round-trip ticket directly on arrival to Ibiza Port. In fact, you can also simply purchase the tickets on board.
For reference, you can use the following website to check schedules (these are released only a month in advance):
Note 1 - Avoid the car-carrying ferries since these are slower, taking approximately 1hr.
Note 2 - Aquabus is the low-cost ferry, it is usually crowded and also takes approximately 1hr.
Just 22km long, the Balearic island of Formentera is Ibiza's chilled-out little sister, beloved for its sensational beaches and unique remote vibe. Small cars are the most convenient mode of transportation. Bicycles and scooters are also very popular in a place where no one is ever in a hurry and gradients are modest.
CAR RENTAL
Make sure to rent the car from PUERTO DE LA SAVINA. Both Avis and Europcar have offices located walking distance from La Savina Port where the ferry arrives.
TAXI
If you don't wish to rent a car, the local taxi phone number is (+34) 97-132-2342. There is a taxi stop at the port but it can sometimes take up to 30 minutes waiting in line.
GECKO HOTEL TRANSFER
You can also pre-arrange for a transfer from Savina Ferry Port to Gecko Hotel but you must call the hotel in advance to arrange. Cost is 50eu and car fits 5ppl.
