Rusty and Lauren

Who would have thought a dating app would be responsible for bringing you the love of your life? Thanks to everyone telling Rusty that it would be difficult to find a woman in the mountains or at work, and Andrea for signing Lauren up, everything worked out better than could have been imagined. Rusty messaged Lauren and then waited to hear back. Lauren had joined the app; but then decided she needed to concentrate on her upcoming veterinary surgery board examination so put it on hold.

It was almost 3 months after Rusty had sent his initial message to Lauren (who by then he had dubbed his brunette beauty) that she finally wrote back. Now that surgical boards were behind her, Lauren was ready to see if this guy who had been on her mind for several months was still interested. They talked back and forth to set up a first date. After meeting and having good conversation all night, they both felt a glimmer of hope that it would turn into something more. They found out they shared a love of the outdoors and a mutual interest in bow hunting. Over the following months their favorite times were spent hiking the mountains of Nevada, cooking around the campfire, and camping.
Fast forward a year and both were ready to make a lasting commitment. After a long hike to the top of Diamond Peak, Rusty got down on one knee (during a jumping picture, of course) and proposed. We cannot wait to spend forever together!

Becca Rios
We met one night near the start of vet school and immediately hit it off. Something just clicked and we became inseparable partners in crime. From late night runs to Andy's Frozen Custard, weekends spent line dancing at Whiskey Wild, cruises with her family and lake trips with mine, we have shared many memorable moments. Distance will never be an obstacle for us and we will always be plotting our next trip!
Megan Kensinger
Our friendship began in middle school because we both shared a love of soccer and became teammates. We went on to be roommates in college where we had countless fun times.... best not to get into those stories though. Let's just say there were countless backyard bonfires, fun filled river float trips, and fist pumping/calf fry eating country music festivals at Oklahoma State (Go Pokes!). Our bond has remained strong throughout moves we have both made across the country. She will always be considered a sister to me.
Clarissa Trust
I am glad that Clarissa picked Mizzou to finish her last 2 years of vet school. She shares the same love of country music that I have, and it did not take long for Becca, Clarissa, and I to become fast friends known as The Wolf Pack. She is one of the sweetest persons I have ever met, and someone I can count on being there for me.
Megan Schaible
We met when Megan was finishing her veterinary surgery residency at VSEC and I was just starting mine. Megan and I connected over country music and breweries. One of my favorite memories is attending the hilarious goat races at Sly Fox Brewery Bockfest. We had many laughs watching the races in the rain, dancing to German music, and Megan wanting to take a UTV for a ride.
Andrea Sanders
We met when Andrea decided my brother was not so bad and decided to marry him. We both love travel so bonded over trips to New Mexico, Aruba, and Iceland. She is the perfect match for my brother, and I am glad to call her a sister. She is also responsible for my beautiful engagement pictures and getting me on the app where I met Rusty.
Justin Thompson
You may have a sibling, but that does not always mean they are your best friend in life. But, in my case, Justin is the person that I call almost every day just to catch up. We know that we can count on each other to share an encouraging word when needed. I won't forget the day I told my brother about a girl named Lauren, who I had messaged, that appeared to be my dream girl. Beautiful, career driven, outdoorsy, with a shared love of bow hunting. Weeks went by with no reply, but Justin continued to ask if I had heard back from her. I am not sure if it was brotherly intuition or what, but he seemed to know right off the bat that she was going to be the one for me. We have always been close and will continue to be there for each other.
Heath Ashbocker
Heath and I have become incredibly good friends over the years. You have heard the saying, "What a small world" and that is so true with us. We were both at Sportsman's Warehouse one day roaming around the archery section. After talking about hunting for a few minutes, we ended up leaving at the same time. We spent several hours in the parking lot talking about hunting and then found out he also had worked at the Nevada Test site, but we had never crossed paths. Heath and I have hunted all over the West, building memories that will last a lifetime. Our friendship is so close that his boys call me Uncle Russ and I hope that one day my children will do the same.
Beau Stewart
Beau and I met through a mutual friend because of hunting, of course. We quickly built a friendship with countless scouting/hunting trips that have turned into some of my favorite times. There is nothing better than to be sitting around camp, dying laughing with the "167 pursuit", aka the Stewart brothers and Curtis Gubler.
Clayton Stewart
I have no idea where to start with this guy? It’s been some great years to say the least! Clayton is one of the funniest people to be around, he can make the worse day the best day! I know I can always count on him with anything.
Curtis Prestwich
Curtis moved to Pioche at the age of 9, which is where we both raised hell throughout our childhood. We have been good friends from the beginning. It is one of those friendships that when you see one another you don't feel like you have skipped a beat. He is the one friend that you can always count on to the end!
