The only thing harder than finding the perfect ring for Rusafa was deciding how to actually give it to her. I knew I wanted it to be memorable, unique & a surprise... but that was as far as I got for weeks.
That is until I remembered something that had been on Rusafa's bucket list for some time: a helicopter tour over NYC. So I made a few calls and the plan was set in motion.
Looking back, I barely remember the take-off, the views, or even what I said. All I remember was how amazing it felt when she said "yes!" and how relieved I was that I didn't have to use the emergency parachute.
Once we landed, we drove home where both of our families were waiting. They did an amazing job keeping my secret for over a week and decorating the house for our arrival (sidenote: if you ever need 100 mini electric candles, I'm your guy).
I can truly say that was the most nerve-wracking, exciting, and beautiful day of my life...and in case you're wondering, it was definitely a successful surprise (just ask Rusafa how she felt about her nails that day).

From the very first moment that I met Faris, I knew he was the one for me. Despite our mutual love for football, the Yankees, food, and traveling, I tried my hardest to take things slow in the beginning because I wanted to make sure that he was the real deal.
A couple of weeks into dating, I went to a Yankees game with my girlfriends for my birthday. Faris wasn't invited because I wasn't ready to introduce him to all of my friends just yet, but apparently he took matters into his own hands.
A few innings into the game, I received a text from Faris to look at the big JumboTron screen for "something funny". I had no idea why he was so adamant until a message in bold letters appeared on the giant screen for the whole stadium that read "Happy Birthday Rusy - From Faris"
This grand birthday gesture was too sweet and I couldn't hold in my excitement. Til this day, he never ceases to surprise me and is always catching me off guard.
Long story short...It never went slow. All my friends found out. I blame Faris for that. And here I am 2 years later, marrying the man of my dreams.
