Healdsburg Center for the Arts has a history that goes back twenty-six years. Incorporated in December 1993, Healdsburg Arts Council (HAC) was formed to advance the arts and art education in the Healdsburg community and to further the community artists, writers and performers by providing performance opportunities, library readings, visual art presentations, and educational workshops in the arts for artists, art patrons, and students.
This vibrant organization exists with a team of dedicated volunteers who staff the gallery, coordinate and assist at events, hang exhibits, and serve in an advisory role to the Board. Completing the team is our Executive Director and a contract Creative Education Coordinator. A very involved Board of Directors oversees and guides the organization.
Paul Mahder Gallery I’m always amazed at how the right space, the right atmosphere, combined with art that is alive, can change someone’s day, bring a smile, even create meaningful experiences that one can carry for their entire lives.
The Paul Mahder Gallery aspires to be such a place. And I invite you to experience for yourself… the tremendous variety of art, some terribly beautiful and some terribly dark and challenging. Experience the sculpture garden with the moss wall and enter into another time and place. Take in the natural sky light, the open space, the music. Even enjoy a glass of fine wine while wandering around. Reach all of the senses…and relax in this space where more is possible than when you first entered.
Welcome to my dream space, my sacred space where all are welcome to look, learn, listen and come home to themselves.

Dry Creek Valley Out & Back is the perfect ride for a casual day trip exploring the Healdsburg area! The region is home to many small production, organic, family owned & operated wineries, many with regular tasting room hours. Overall, the ride is considered "flat" with small rolling hills (equivalent to about 2 flights of stairs) with just a little traffic the first mile getting from our Wine Country Bikes Touring Center out of town. We decided to make the ride an out & back simply because the road you'll travel-West Dry Creek Rd-has beautiful views in both directions, many places to stop and explore and is one of the most popular bike routes in the country- you’ll often see many more bikes than cars! The road itself is a small, newly paved country road with no shoulder; however, the speed limit is low and you may also see people running and walking. The full ride is about 25 miles, but even beginning riders should be able to make the "Mid Valley" shorter trip of 11 miles on basic hybrid bikes.
Russian River Valley Loop begins in the Town of Healdsburg. Travel down the eastside and back up the westside of the Russian River Valley Wine Region, includes a few long-ish hills. Visit some of the boutique wineries along Westside Rd. We suggest bringing lunch with you as there aren't any places to pick up lunch along the route.

Safari West was born in the late 1980’s when Peter Lang purchased 400 rolling acres in the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains. Relocating his small but growing collection of exotic wildlife, Peter quickly converted the former cattle ranch into a world class conservation breeding facility.
As Peter set to work establishing captive breeding programs for the varied and often critically endangered species in his collection he worked closely with local zoological facilities, including, of course, the San Francisco Zoo. It was there that he met lead curator, raptor-specialist, and his future wife, Nancy Lang. Combining their unique skill-sets, the pair set about turning this vast swath of oak woodland into the world class wildlife preserve it is today.
The mission of Safari West is to actively promote conservation and environmental education, while sharing knowledge that empowers each individual to think sustainably about their role in the environment and the world at large.
