Getting to the Bahamas
Regarding Covid-19, the Bahamas is taking public health seriously, which is one of the many reasons that we feel good about gathering there with you.
For up-to-date information regarding the mandatory health visa, Covid-19 travel insurance, and pre-travel testing requirements for entry to the Bahamas and the USA, please reference the embassy website:
bs.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information/.
As of January 24, 2022, the following is a summary of the travel requirements:
Now: We humbly request/require that all attendees be vaccinated and boosted if eligible. Make sure your passport is up to date!
3 Days Before Departing: Please get a COVID-19 test within 72 hours of flying. Official antigen tests or PCR tests are accepted. Home tests will NOT suffice because you will need proof of your negative test to apply for your Bahamas Travel Health Visa. If you test positive for COVID-19 within 72 hours of travel, the Baha Mar will refund your room cost without penalty.
2 Days Before Departing: Apply online for your Bahamas Travel Health Visa ($40 Fee). While this can technically take up to 2 days to process, the application is generally approved within hours. You will need proof of vaccination and of a negative COVID-19 test to apply. To apply, visit travel.gov.bs/.
You do NOT need to purchase "Purchase an Antigen Test Voucher" when getting your Travel Health Visa. Testing is FREE at the Baha Mar.
1-2 Days After Arrival: Get a complimentary Covid-19 antigen test at the resort. This is mandated by the Bahamian government, and it must be done within 48 hours of arrival. Look for an email from the Bahamian government for information about how to upload proof of your negative test.
1 Day Before Returning: Get a COVID-19 antigen or PCR test within 24 hours of your departing flight. Antigen tests at the Baha Mar are free to guests and conveniently available on site.
Baha Mar Travel with Confidence Program:If you test positive for COVID-19 while at the Baha Mar, this program will either provide private air transportation to South Florida or will provide you with a complimentary room with a daily $150 dining credit per adult. As long as the Baha Mar is your first destination and you are a US Resident, you automatically qualify for this program. For more information, visit bahamar.com/travel-with-confidence/.
Given that all events are at the resort, we do not recommend renting a car.
Taxis are readily available at the airport. The fare to the hotel is approximately $25.
Safest ground transportation: The Baha Mar offers an airport car service for a fee that must be booked in advance. The service used will adhere to all safety protocols, such as masking and avoiding front-seat passengers. You can use the link or you can email reservations@mtsbahamas.com to book your transportation.
We chose the Bahamas as our wedding destination because we both love Nassau! We both frequented the Bahamas on family trips as children, but our first trip to the Bahamas together actually happened after we picked Nassau and the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar as our wedding site. We wanted to pick a destination in paradise close to the USA to make logistics and travel easy for you, our guests!

In order to fly to the Bahamas, you will need a valid passport, and proof of a return flight back to the USA.
Please review the Covid-19 Requirements, as those are REQUIRED for travel as well.
Flights to Nassau's Lynden Pindling International Airport (NAS) are offered by most major airlines, including JetBlue and Southwest.
The flight, takeoff to landing, from Fort Lauderdale or Miami typically takes 1 hour.
