The Mehndi is a traditional Indian event where guests join the bride to get decorated with mehndi (henna) paste before the wedding ceremony. The cooling effect of the paste is supposed to keep the bride calm and relaxed before her big day!
During the event, we'll enjoy Caribbean food, drinks, and music while mehndi designs are applied to guests' hands.
Mehndi stains the skin, and the designs can last between 1-4 weeks. The longer the paste is left on, the darker (and longer!) it typically stains. Per traditional lore, the darker the bride's henna stain, the more deeply the groom loves the bride.
Attire is chic, colorful, festive resort wear or cocktail attire. This space is an indoor/outdoor space, so please dress for the tropical weather. As with all events, Indian and American attire are equally appropriate!

The Pithi Ceremony is an auspicious Indian ceremony, meant to purify, beautify, and bestow luck and well wishes on the bride and groom. Pithi is a yellow paste made of turmeric, rose water, and chickpea flour. Friends and family will apply pithi paste to the bride and the groom in this traditional pre-wedding ceremony.
Towards the close of this event, friends of the groom will cover Brandon with more than just pithi paste--including eggs, flour, shaving cream, ketchup, or other non-toxic items. If you plan to partake in this part of the event, be prepared to get dirty and dress accordingly!
Come and enjoy the pithi ceremony, lunch, lawn games, and music!
Attire is colorful and casual. This is an outdoor event in a mostly covered space, so please dress for the Bahamian weather. As with all events, Indian and American attire are equally appropriate.

The Sangeet is a giant, colorful, music party where the bride's and groom's families and friends unite during this pre-wedding reception. Friends and family will sing songs and perform choreographed dances before all the guests hit the dance floor for a night of food, music, dancing, and a whole lot of fun!
Attire is formal, festive, and colorful. As with all events, Indian and American attire are equally appropriate.
If you are interested in wearing Indian clothes to a single event only, this is the night!

The Baraat is a parade-style procession where the groom dances with friends and family, traditionally from his home to the wedding venue. You can expect drums, music, and dancing! Not to be missed, the Baraat is one of the most fun parts of an Indian wedding.
Both the bride and groom's family and friends are welcome to participate in Brandon's procession. Nishma's immediate family will be waiting to receive the Baraat for the wedding ceremony.
Please meet at 3:00 PM outside of REGATTA to assemble for the Baraat.
After the Baraat, we'll have our formal wedding ceremony.
Attire is formal/black tie optional. As with all events, Indian and American attire are equally appropriate!
Keep in mind that a cocktail hour and reception will immediately follow the Baraat and the Ceremony.
