Mari + Joseph

Mari's slightly younger sister and best friend.  The Athos to Mari's Porthos. She is the funnier Tanaka sister and creator of #TanakaTuesday. Mari will intermittently say "thank you" to their mom because she loves having a sister like Ashley so much.  Ashley inspires Mari to always do her #TanakaBest. 

Ali is Mari's cousin.  They grew up together in Hawaii and together with Ashley choreographed some great dance performances to Britney Spears to entertain the family at get-togethers. Ali is hardworking, thoughtful, and creative (she's an architect!). Mari feels very fortunate to have such a close cousin like her.

Desi is Mari's best friend from high school. They spent all of middle and high school playing softball together and along the way were always eating, laughing, and checking out baseball boys.  Despite them hanging up their softball cleats, they still eat and laugh together whenever they can.  Desi is beautiful, funny, and the truest of friends.  Mari is so grateful Desi is in her life. 

Keren is Mari's college roommate and after living together freshman year they never parted until graduation. Even after surviving Harvard, they have remained close despite the distance. Keren encouraged Mari to dress well for tests in college when she didn't feel prepared because if she failed at least she would look good doing it, which is better than looking bad when failing - something Mari still adheres to today. Keren is passionate, brilliant, and thoughtful.  Her and her husband, Jimmy, are one of the best couples Mari and Joe know!
