How Marie and Darren's Adventure Began
Once upon a time, in a faraway land called Ireland, our story began at a friend's going-away bash.
We kicked off the night at Ryan's Pub, Marie, seated and having the craic with friends when Darren arrives. Not a word was spoken between them in Ryan's! Smooth, right?But then, the night led us to Langton's, where fate had a little mischief planned. It was there, amidst laughter and clinking glasses, that Darren mustered up the courage for our very first kiss. A night to remember, indeed!
He added Marie as a friend on Facebook that very night. Marie, in her own mysterious way, kept him waiting for seven agonizing days before finally accepting that friend request. The suspense was unbearable!
if there's one thing that sealed the deal in our relationship, it wasn't candlelit dinners or long walks on the beach – it was a shared Netflix account. Forget love at first sight, it was more like love at first episode binge!
Fast forward a decade, and here we are. Some say it was a leap year, others say it was just time. But we both knew something was up when Marie's best friend tied the knot after 13 long years of friendship. Darren had to act fast, and so he did.
Our Journey Together
Marie, always up for a good time, introduced Darren to some incredible journeys. The very first big one was to the Galapagos Islands and Ecuador – a clear sign of Marie's love for exploring new places!
Their travel tales continued with visits to various places including the Christmas markets in Germany, where the air was filled with festive scents, and twinkling lights added a special magic to their time together.
Later on, Darren decided to return the favor. He introduced Marie to the exciting world of comic conventions in New York. Her first Comic Con experience was absolutely fantastic. Picture this: people dressed up in cool costumes, comic books everywhere, and a whole lot of nerdy fun that created unforgettable memories for the both of them!And so, their shared adventures unfolded, each trip leaving its mark on the beautiful canvas of their journey together.
The Proposal
The unforgettable tale of our proposal atop Slieve Na Mon.Darren, in his romantic brilliance, decided to bring us to the very peak where we could overlook the breathtaking landscape that oversees the site where we plan to spend the rest of our lives together.
However, fate had its own plans that day. First, Darren's car decided to act up, leaving us stranded for a moment. As if that wasn't enough, as we started our climb the heavens opened up, drenching us in a downpour that only added to the adventure. To make matters even more interesting, the hiking shoes Darren wore, borrowed from Marie's brother, decided to stage their own rebellion, falling apart step by step. Darren literally lost his sole on that mountain – a small sacrifice for the grandeur of the moment.
Then, as Darren dropped to one knee, the rain cascading around us, Marie couldn't resist making him wait just a second longer. Call it mischief or savoring the anticipation, but in that moment, I realized that our love story was destined to be as unpredictable and enchanting as that mountaintop proposal.
Fashion Sense
As we got older, our style changed, but not always for the better.
Our taste in clothes evolved, and sometimes it worked out well, but other times, not so much.
Trends came and went, and our outfits became a mix of hits and misses. Our fashion journey reflected the different stages of our lives, showing how we've changed over time.
Whether we tried bold new looks or stuck with what we knew, our changing style became a way to see the colorful story of our years.
Self Build
Then, in a bold move towards a shared future, we made the decision to build our own home. The idea of creating a space together, from the ground up, symbolized our commitment to a life lived side by side.The journey of self-building wasn't just about constructing walls and roofs; it was about laying the foundation for our dreams, pouring in the love that would make those walls a home.
It was a labour of love, a testament to our shared vision, and the realisation that our home was more than just a physical structure—it was the embodiment of our commitment to build a life together.
