It all started with a conversation I was having with my mum when she visited me in Canada in year 2018. How I met Lolade
It all started with a conversation I was having with my mum when she visited me in Canada in year 2018. We were talking about how my younger sister went to give birth to her first child and stayed a couple of weeks at my uncle’s place in Oklahoma, US. She was showing me pictures of my sister’s visit on her phone and I came across this one picture in which Lolade was wearing a red dress. Her beauty struck me like a lightening bolt, so I stopped to ask her who the beautiful lady was. She responded saying ‘she is a family friend’s daughter’, immediately I got her phone number we started talking.
Later in year 2018, my dad visited me in Toronto and he spent about 3 weeks. Being family friends with Lolade’s family, they came to visit my dad from US and she came along with them. I remember we went to see a movie during their visit, I asked her out and we started dating.

How I met Tayo,
I met Tayo when I went with my family to visit his dad in Canada. Prior to the trip, Tayo and I had talked on the phone a couple of times after he got my phone number. During our visit to Canada, he showed us around the city, we went site seeing, the movies and my favorite, the Niagara falls boat ride. I had a good time during my trip and right before traveling back to the States he asked me out and the rest is history.

The proposal 9/25/20
Tayo came to visit me in the states and I went to pick him up from the airport. The original plan was for us to visit our parents before he settled down in the Airbnb he was staying. However, Tayo kept insisting that he had to settle down at the Airbnb first because he had to use the restroom and could not wait. When we got there, I opened the door and was very confused to see the place decorated. I turned around to find Tayo on his knees asking me to marry him. The answer was “YES!”, ofcourse.
