La Loggia is well positioned in Florence at a common view point so is very convenient for guests staying in Florence.
For guests staying in Villa Mangiacane, transportation has been arranged to and from the Villa to La Loggia for the welcome drinks.
To La Loggia; Buses leave at 6.30pm from the hotel. Return to the Hotel; Buses leave Loggia at 11pm.
Wedding Day; Saturday 13th August
To the Venue:~ 4.30pm.
Transportation to the wedding will leave promptly from Piazzale Michelangelo at 4.30pm.
The pick up & drop off point is just in front of La Loggia (the location for the welcome drinks). So by Saturday everyone should be familiar with the location.
There will be one of our lovely planning team members there to greet you and make sure you're on the right bus!

Return to Florence:
Transportation back to Florence will leave Villa Mangiacane at 3am.
If you are planning to head home before the 3am buses, it would be advisable to pre book a taxi as the venue is located in the middle of the countryside.
Taxis can't be hailed on the street; Please find ranks at the train and bus stations or call +39 055 42 42 (www.4242.it) or +39 055 43 90 (www.4390.it), or use the IT Taxi smartphone app.
Please note there is NO uber in Florence.
Getting to Florence
There are 3 airports within 70 minutes of Florence offering lots of different travel options.
1. PISA AIRPORT
Galileo Galilei International Airport is located 80 km from Florence.
Most of the low cost European carriers have routes into Pisa such as EasyJet, Jet2 and Ryan Air.
Getting to Florence from Pisa airport:
By Train (roughly 1 hour journey time)
Take the PisaMover from the airport to Pisa Central (these run all day, every 5/8minutes and the journey takes 5 minutes.)
From Pisa Central take a direct train to Florence (journey takes between 50minutes and 1hr 20mins depending on day & time of travel)

You'll be able to buy a combined ticket for both the PisaMover and the train to Florence at the Arrivals hall of the airport.
By Bus
Currently, there are two companies that offer this service: Airport Bus Express by Autostradale and Sky Bus Lines Caronna.
Both companies stop in Florence's Piazzale Montelungo (a few hundred metres away from Santa Maria Novella train station) and the journey takes around 1 hour, traffic permitting.

Just so you know, Sky Bus Lines Caronna will also take you from the airport of Pisa to the airport of Florence via the towns of Montecatini, Pistoia and Prato.
By taxi
There's also the possibility of getting a taxi: from Pisa Airport to the center of Florence you will spend approximately €170,00 (there are no standard fares in this case, drivers are obliged by law to switch the meter on at the start of every trip). By Car
If you are planning to hire a car, there are many hire options within the arrivals terminal at Pisa airport. Due to the high season timing of our wedding, it would be advised to prebook any hire vehicles ahead of your arrival.
The drive to Florence from Pisa is very easy (and beautiful) via direct motorway and takes about 1 hour.
2. BOLOGNA AIRPORT
Guglielmo Marconi Airport Is located 70km from Florence.
It offers both good flight availability to the UK with Easy Jet, Ryan Air and International flights via Emirates, British Airways and others.
By Train (roughly 45 minutes journey time)
Take the Marconi Express from the airport to Bologna Central Train station (the journey takes 7 minutes)
From Bologna Central you take a direct high speed train to Florence (the journey takes only 37 minutes, this may change depending on day & time of travel)

You'll be able to buy a combined ticket for both the Marconi Express and the train to Florence at the Arrivals hall of the airport.
By Bus
Ricci Autonoleggi bus company offer transfers to Florence direct from Bologna aiport.
The bus stops in Florence's Piazzale Montelungo (a few hundred metres away from Santa Maria Novella train station) and the journey takes 90 minutes, traffic permitting.

By Car
If you are planning to hire a car, there are many hire options within the arrivals terminal at Bologna airport. Due to the high season timing of our wedding, it would be advised to prebook any hire vehicles ahead of your arrival.
The drive to Florence from Bologna is very easy (and beautiful) via direct motorway and takes about 70 minutes.
3. FLORENCE AIRPORT
Peretola, officially known as Amerigo Vespucci Airport, is the international airport of Florence, serving mainly as seasonal airport with some flight connections from/to other larger European cities during the entire year. The airport is located only 4 km northwest of Florence city center.
By Taxi
Taxi is a relatively inexpensive mean of transport in Florence area. The ride from the airport has a fixed rate of €20 euros plus the €2 supplement. The extra or bulky baggage can be charged 1 euro. Some small charges apply when ordering a taxi at night or during national holidays. Taxis are located in front of the terminal, at the end of the terminal building.
Airport shuttle
There is an organized shuttle service from Florence airport- Peretola to the Santa Maria Novella railway station in downtown Florence. Buses go every day, from 05:30 to 20:30 (every 30 minutes) then every 60 minutes until 00:30.
One-way ticket costs around € and can be purchased from the driver in cash, directly on the bus. Return tickets are also available, at the price of 10 euros, but they can be purchased only at Busitalia SITA bus station (near SMN railway station) or at the newspaper stands (Tabacchi), even at the airport.

August is typically the hottest month in Italy where temperatures in Florence can reach upwards of 30degrees.
We will provide as much shade as we can throughout the weekend but please dress appropriately as most of the events of the weekend will be taking place outside.
Entry requirements for Italy have been relaxed as of 1st May 2022 and are now broadly in line with the rest of Europe.
You can travel into Italy without quarantine by presenting one of the below:
- Provide proof of two vaccinations
- Provide a negative PCR test (72 hours before entering Italy)
- Provide a negative rapid lateral flow test (48 hours before entering Italy)
If you cannot present any evidence of the above you will need to isolate for 5 days on arrival. On day 5 a negative test result must be produced to leave isolation.
