Where to Stay
Accommodation on the island is extremely limited, so please book early! We are hoping that everyone will find a wonderful place to call home for the weekend that is on-island, so that you can truly experience this special little place we fell in love with.
Please note: There are no Ubers on the island, and very few taxis. Transportation to the wedding will be provided from The Chequit Hotel, The Shelter Island House and the West Neck Guest House.
We have also hired a driver to provide transportation on the island for our wedding guests throughout the weekend. Please call or text him if you are in need of a ride to or from any of our events or the ferries: Eric Koszalka: 631.379.6020.
The Chequit
NOTE: FULLY BOOKED.
This local landmark will be the primary hotel for our guests, and "home base" for the weekend. Located right in town, it is a two-minute drive or six-minute walk from the North Ferry.
Please mention the Bernstein-White wedding when calling to make your reservation: 631.749.0018.
Shelter Island House
NOTE: 3 ROOMS LEFT AS OF AUGUST 13.
This chic little inn has 12 rooms and is a two-minute bicycle ride (bikes are included with your stay!) to Crescent Beach, or short drive to town. There are also several outdoor lounge areas, as well as a bocce court.
West Neck Guest House
NOTE: FULLY BOOKED.
The sister property to the Shelter Island House, this six-bedroom inn is a former family home that has been converted into a lovely guest house with petanque and a giant chess board in the yard, located 13 minutes to town by foot. Guests also have access to the breakfast buffet and bicycles available at Shelter Island House.
House on Chase Creek
NOTE: FULLY BOOKED.
Another sweet little bed & breakfast with four rooms, located a short five minute walk to town and ten minute walk to the North ferry.
Dering Harbor Inn
NOTE: 10 ROOMS LEFT AS OF AUGUST 13.
Less than a ten-minute walk to town, the inn is right on the harbor and is an assortment of hotel rooms and vacation condos rented by the property. It is also where Shelter Island Yoga & Fitness is located.
Rent your own house and live like a local! Honestly there are probably more rental homes on Airbnb and HomeAway than there are hotels on the island. It's actually how we found the house we stayed at on our first visit to the island! If you are looking for a place to stay with a small group, we highly recommend it. (It can also be significantly more affordable per room.)
