Accommodation Options
The St Francis Bay area is made up of four main sections - the Canals/Village, Santareme, Port St Francis and St Francis Links. The next town along from St Francis Bay is Cape St Francis. Most places are no more than 5-10 minutes drive from each other. Please refer to the below and the St Francis Tourism website to find the area and accommodation that suits you. Please get in touch if you have any questions though and we will be happy to help!
The Canals/Village (black & white houses)
The houses around the canal system are known for their uniform black roofs and white-walls. The canals have a small boat harbour, restaurants and together with the Kromme River is a playground for the water sport enthusiast and fisherman alike. Paddling and SUPing, swimming, boating, fishing, and especially late afternoon canal cruises is the vibe. The village is where most of the shops are, some more restaurants, a brewery and the original St Francis Bay golf course.
Santareme (Mediterranean & Tuscan style houses)
Santareme hosts some of the best views of the bay. Perfect for walks along the coastal path/nature reserve and watching surfers catching waves at Bruce’s Beauties, a world-famous surfing spot.
Port St Francis
Port St Francis is a commercial and recreational harbour, built to host the squid industry, as well as a small harbour resort village. It lies in a sheltered nook of the bay and has a great seafood restaurant and some small shops. It is also on the coastal walking path.
St Francis Links
‘The Links’ is at the entrance to St Francis Bay and is home to a Jack Nicklaus signature golf course, ranked number 1 in South Africa. The estate is mainly residential but does have a few lodges and houses to let.
Cape St Francis
Cape St Francis is a 10 minute drive from St Francis Bay and is a super chilled out beach side village with a few restaurants, an aquatic centre and the Cape St Francis Resort. It has the biggest beach in the area and is a popular surfing spot. The area is surrounded by multiple nature reserves, ‘Sunset Rock’ and the Seal Point Lighthouse.
