What to say about a friendship that goes back to before I was born when she asked Santa Claus for a “bundel of joy?” I am so grateful to have an older sister like Amita. No matter what zip code we have found ourselves in, she has always been there for me when I’ve needed her. She’s looked over my homework, taught me about make-up, lent me her clothes (& certainly borrowed in return), and basically has been my Yoda. Joking, I’m not. Whether it’s our plans for Restaurant Week, discussing the latest episode of Outlander or just watching Millie get into some mischief, we always have a good time. She is the most incredible aunt and about to be an even more amazing mother! Who would I be without her as my friend and role model? After 28 years, I’ve almost forgiven her for asking Santa to take me back.
My favorite older cousin <3! Growing up, I always admired Brinda for her dedication to her family and to her studies. Visits with Brinda have always included fancy food (mostly at home as her mom is an amazing cook), exploring unforgettable museums and sites, and trips down memory lane! We’ve been though good and bad times but always together. Over the years, Brinda has become less like a cousin and more like a sister. Can’t wait to catch up with her at the wedding festivities!
Our first days go back to the hallowed halls of Saint Louis University. Though we initially met as freshmen and floormates at Reinert Hall, our relationship had a rocky start. We only realized we were bff's as seniors in college. A couple of science classes, Mardi Gras parades, cheesy Indian Student Association parties, and heart-to-hearts over cheap wine later, we were inseparable. Though we've grown older and don't have the stomach for midnight trips to Taco Bell anymore, our friendship has stayed stronger than ever. Love ya Megha booty!
We've known each other for almost 28 years! Josh lives where we grew up in Appleton, Wisconsin and works in the Information Technology field. He obviously has a love for computers and is always the go to guy when your technology just isn't working quite right. He also has a passion for photography, and sacrificed himself to the cold to hide and take pictures of Jenny and me the night I asked Jenny to marry me. We have common ground in communicating in movie quotes and obscure references, and will go for weeks communicating only in memes and video clips.
Mike and I met in medical school. We were roommates and remained that way throughout the entirety of our schooling. Our training took us to opposite sides of the country but we remain close and keep each other up to date with the happenings of our lives. Mike will be moving to Colorado to further specialize in Pulmonology and Critical Care.
Luke and I met in residency and an immediate friendship was formed. If you are looking to throw a themed party he is the man to call. Luke will be leaving Illinois and moving back to California to pursue further specialization in Pulmonology and Critical Care
Ryan and I met in college and have been present for nearly every major event in each other's lives. We both had the bright idea to pursue a career in medicine for some reason, and Ryan's training took him to South Carolina and then Texas where he has a Family Medicine practice. I was the best man in his wedding and we talk nearly every day, although we mostly just complain about the inconveniences of our days or send each other memes. Regardless, the day couldn't happen without him.
I was initially introduced to Mike when he was a 5th year surgical resident and I was a medicine intern rotating through his service. Pretty sure he had no idea who I was until he started dating one of my seniors. We soon became fast friends with like interests and a tendency to end up at dive bars on work nights.
Wills and I met in residency and have spent many a night getting food and drinks in the city. Wills is the guy you consult for recommendations on food and drinks. He's also the person you consult in the hospital when things go south as he specializes in Critical Care. Never a dull night in his company.
Adam and I met first in middle school and remained friends through high school. We also went to college together and lived with each other for a few years. As you could imagine Adam and I have shared a few life experiences together: I was there when he met the woman who would become his wife and subsequently stood up in their wedding. Adam is a police officer in West Allis, Wisconsin and I wouldn't trust anyone else to keep us safe.
Ben and I first met in high school and have continued to be close ever since. Ben has helped me move more times than I can count because that's just the type of person he is. If there's a project you need to get done he is the person to call. Ben works in the event industry and is one of the most creative and imaginative people I know.
Doug is the husband of my wife's sister. When I met Doug I knew immediately that I hit the jackpot when it comes to brother in laws. We found quick common ground on drinks, golf and the love of around the house projects. Give us a beer and some power tools and we can accomplish anything
Ben and I first met in middle school but didn't really start to hang out until high school. Since then we have remained close and have involved each other in any life events. Ben has an interest in politics which is the field he currently works in.
