Things to Do

The Queen Mary

When you mention Long Beach to most people in LA, they usually tell you to check out the Queen Mary, even though most of them have never actually done it themselves. Paul & Richard are no different. But it looks cool, and they filmed a really great episode of The X-Files on it ("Triangle," from season 6), so why not check it out and tell us how it is?

Aquarium of the Pacific

"I knew that this aquarium was going to be great when my friend and I each got a coupon for $7 off admission price from some random dude in the parking complex." --Pam K., yelp.com

(Seriously though, it's one of the biggest and best-known aquariums on the West Coast and you'll be right down the street from it!)

Catalina Island

The summer that Paul & Richard started dating, they took a day trip to Catalina Island, where Richard met Paul's family for the very first time and they all had a great time, despite the threat of doing an activity called "Snuba." Make sure to take the Segway tour while you're there! (Ferries to Catalina Island depart from Long Beach.)

Explore LA!

According to Moby, LA is now superior to NYC, and who are we to argue with the '90s/early-'00s electronica superstar? But don't take his word for it - get on the 710 North and find out for yourself! Go to the beach towns of Malibu or Santa Monica, take a stroll down Hollywood Boulevard and see the Hollywood sign and the Walk of Fame, go shopping on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, see the stars (literally) at the Griffith Park Observatory, or discover that Venice actually has its own picturesque canals just like Italy (sort of). You might just find that LA isn't quite as bad as everybody says it is. (Just don't forget to come back to Long Beach for our wedding!)
