Our Favorite NYC spots!

Dining

Brasserie Cognac

Cognac is our go-to dinner spot on the Upper East Side! We recommend the French Onion Soup, Tuna Tartare, and Cheese Puffs. Located on 70th & Lexington.

Da Tommaso Ristorante

A Hein family favorite for over 30 years, Da Tomasso is a classic Italian Family Restaurant. Located on 8th between 53rd and 54th.

J.G.Melon

A classic and a can't-miss. Cash-only and expect a small wait time. Open late, with the kitchen closing well after midnight. A New York institution! Located on 74th & 3rd.

Things to Do

The Metropolitan Museum of Art

For nearly a century and a half, the Met has remained the cultural epicenter of New York City, thanks to forward-thinking exhibits and an extensive permanent collection. If this is your first trip to the Met, it is recommended to start with the Temple of Dendur, a 2,000-year-old Egyptian temple.

Bergdorf Goodman

Bergdorf Goodman is a fabulous department store based on Fifth Avenue. Lunch and tea are served at "BG," which has beautiful Central Park views.

Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum

The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum (a Peter Hein, Jr. favorite) is a nonprofit educational institution featuring the legendary aircraft carrier Intrepid, the space shuttle Enterprise, the world’s fastest jets, and a guided-missile submarine. The Museum is located along the Hudson River at Pier 86.

William-Wayne & Co.

William-Wayne is one of our favorite stores in New York, with the greatest array of decorative (and useful) objects. Located on 64th & Lexington.
