Getting there and getting around
St. Thomas is part of the U.S. Virgin Islands, so a passport will NOT be necessary for travel from the United States. However, if you plan to visit any of the nearby British Virgin Islands, you will be required to clear customs, and a valid passport will be required.
The main airport on St. Thomas is Cyril E King (STT). Several airlines offer daily direct flights to the island, including:
Delta Air Lines from Atlanta and New York JFK
American Airlines from Boston, New York, Miami, and San Juan
jetBlue from Boston
Spirit Airlines from Ft. Lauderdale
United Airlines from Chicago, Dulles, and Newark
There will be special rates available for our guests with the two rental car agencies below. When you reach out, just mention that you're part of Carter & Decker's wedding group and they'll take care of you.
**Remember: Although it's a U.S. territory, they do drive on the left side of the road!
IF YOU PLAN TO RENT A CAR, PLEASE BE SURE TO BOOK ASAP, AS IT IS HIGH SEASON AND AVAILABILITY WILL BE LIMITED.

Taxis
Unfortunately, Uber / Lyft aren't available on St. Thomas, but taxis are a good option for getting around the island. They are readily available, reliable, and pricing is regulated. (There are, however, "gypsy taxis" that operate independently and should be used at your own risk.) You should expect to pay per person, with a surcharge from 12:00 midnight to 6:00 a.m.
From the airport to Red Hook, you can take a private taxi for $90 for up to 4 passengers, plus $15 per additional passenger.
Many of the taxis are large, 14-passenger vans so don't hesitate to pile in with friends!
