Meagan Singletary
Maid of Honor

Established: August 2004

Carly and Meagan met their freshman year of college and, through the years, have enjoyed many river floats, late night conversations while driving through the Hill Country, impromptu dance parties, Tap Room burgers, drinking games (bull moose), sugar cookies -and so much more that probably shouldn’t be shared here. You are welcome Momma Black! The two have gone from living together and sharing clothes/shoes, to now living in different cities and always unintentionally matching outfits -sometimes even the exact same shirt! They have grown to be sisters and have shared laughs, tears, and shouting matches. They even got matching bobby pin tattoos for their 30th birthdays! Carly has always valued Meagan’s support, guidance, friendship and sisterhood- nothing in life will change that bond. Although Meagan knows nothing about football, Carly and Meagan will never be too old to Tebow at a fancy winery, restaurant, or resort. Here come the Tebow wedding pictures!

“A best friend is one that knows you as you are, understands where you have been, accepts what you have become, and still, gently allows you to grow.”

Kevin Black
Bridesman

Established: May 1989

At age 3, Carly remembers getting a special shirt that said “Big Sister” and getting to hold baby Kevin. Growing up, Carly and Kevin enjoyed typical childhood activities like counting their coins during Saturday morning cartoons (we had a big Coke “piggy bank”), bouncing on their trampoline (he was always so much better at doing flips), accidentally throwing baseballs through their parents’ dining room windows, rollerblading through the neighborhood while being pulled by their large dogs, and so much more. Now, 30 years later, Carly and Kevin enjoy sharing funny/weird GIFs with each other, competing at the bowling alley (even though he usually wins), jamming out to music, and lots and lots of tacos. Carly could not imagine her life without her brother, and he will always hold a special place in her heart as her “little brother” (sorry Kevin, you ARE an inch shorter, too). Carly is always impressed by Kevin’s intellect and jealous of his natural rhythm, but more importantly, she is very proud of the person he is becoming.

"Be nice to your siblings. They're your best link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future."

Matthew Szymarek
Bridesman

Established: August 1991

Carly and Matt met in kindergarten and grew up in the same neighborhood for about 16 years. The two have remained good friends through their lives - from play dates during elementary, to sneaking out to the neighborhood park in middle school (*cough* to smoke their first cigarette *cough*), to Matt driving Carly to school sophomore year of high school, to Matt making the drive from San Angelo to San Marcos to visit Carly in college. Matt has two beautiful and smart daughters, Rylin and Kasey, whom Carly proudly claims as her goddaughters and loves very much! Matt and his family have been Carly’s second family, and Carly’s family considers Matt and his daughters’ family.

“There are friends, there is family, and then there are friends that become family.”

Lauren Meyer
Bridesmaid

Established: October 1993

Carly has known Lauren since she became the 5th cousin of the family. Carly was 7 years old when Lauren was born, and she remembers spending time during summers and holidays playing and helping to take care of Lauren. Sometimes, Carly would even sneak into the room and pinch Lauren if she was napping too long because Carly would want Lauren to wake up so Carly could play with her! (Sorry, Lauren, I regret nothing!) Through Lauren’s college career and now her adulthood, Carly has stopped pinching Lauren and they have grown closer. Now they love getting together to enjoy live music, brunch, exploring Austin, laughter, friendship, and reminiscing about childhood and our grandparents. To this day, Lauren does not recall being pinched by Carly!

“God made us cousins because He knew our mothers could not handle us as siblings.”

Mary Koehler
Bridesmaid
Established: May 2016
Carly and Mary were on the same team together at work and were working a conference in downtown Austin when they immediately bonded over their love of wine, cheese, sports, and laughing. Over the past couple of years, Carly and Mary have enjoyed many late-night patio “therapy” conversations, UT baseball games, Grey’s Anatomy episodes, Nobilo wine, and talking and laughing to the point that Mary’s dog hides in the guest bedroom. Although Mary has recently moved to Dallas, Carly and Mary’s friendship has not skipped a beat and now features more FaceTime wine dates and fun weekend trips that prove they are both getting older and can’t hang like they used to.

“True friendship isn’t about being inseparable, it’s being separated and nothing changes.”

Katie Sinicrope
Woman of Honor

Established: August 1987

When it came time for Dan to choose the person to stand by his side on the biggest day of his life, it was a no-brainer that it would be his sister Katie. After high school, they attended Syracuse together and even lived in the same apartment complex the last year of school. It’s rumored that Dan took five years to complete his bachelors just so they could hang out for one more year. After Syracuse, Katie moved to Washington, D.C., and Dan moved to Austin, TX. Even though they live 1,500 miles apart, they still manage to see each other at least twice a year and talk weekly. Even though Katie is Dan’s younger sister, he has always looked up to her and respected her for what she has accomplished and the woman she has become.

Michael VanValkenburgh
Groomsman

Established: April 2011

Mike is Dan’s brother-in-law, husband of Dan’s sister Katie. When Katie starting dating Mike, Dan was unsure about this bearded, tattooed, Harley Davidson-riding character. But once Dan met Mike, he was happy to call Mike not only his friend, but eventually, his brother. Mike and Dan always enjoy bonding over comics, video games, and a few cold ones. Because Dan has known Katie her entire life, he can also share a few good laughs with Mike at Katie’s expense because he knows her OCD and planning...behaviors. Dan couldn’t imagine spending the biggest day of his life without Mike standing by his side.

Gary Elieff
Groomsman

Established: September 2003

Freshman year at Syracuse, Gary and Dan had a few engineering classes together. They quickly became friends when they realized they shared a love for video games, breakdancing, competitive drinking games, and the gym. They made a deal one summer, when Gary was trying to put on weight, that he had to eat every time Dan ate, plus ice cream and peanut butter with weight gainer every night. He gained seven pounds that summer. Since they met 16 years ago, Gary and Dan have lived in the same city for nine years and were roommates for six. Even though Carly has taken over the role of Dan’s roommate, most of Gary and Dan’s interests remain the same and they live less than five miles apart. Dan has always looked up to Gary for what he has accomplished in his life and career and knows he can always count on Gary for advice.

Rob Sasson
Groomsman

Established: May 2006

Rob and Dan grew up in the same hometown but didn’t become good friends until after they went away to college. From then on, their summers consisted of multiple trips a week to downtown New Haven, hangout sessions in Rob’s basement, and vacations in Cape Cod, MA. Once they graduated from college, their New Haven escapades migrated to Stamford, CT, where Rob met his current wife and mother of his beautiful daughter (soon to be daughters; congrats you two!!). Dan has always admired Rob for his kind heart, and his love and dedication to his career and family. Rob has, and will always be, someone Dan can count on for advice, no matter how far apart they live.

Matthew DeMonaco
Groomsman

Established: March 2007

Matt and Dan were introduced by a mutual friend in the Spring of 2007 because they were set to be roommates for the upcoming school year. The moment Dan saw Matt, he was certain they would hate each other. Matt stepped out of his car, talking on one cell phone, texting on another, and just nodded when Dan went to shake his hand. Who knew they would spend the next few years working at Lucy’s Retired Surfers Bar four nights a week and quoting Family Guy as a form of communication? Matt became part of the Sinicrope family one summer when he lived in Madison with Dan and his parents. Paul, Dan’s father, regretted housing two unemployed early 20-year-olds when he woke up to go to work and found the two of them still up from the night before drinking mixed drinks and playing Golden Eye on Nintendo 64. Matt has since moved to San Diego, CA, but the two still manage to talk frequently and see each other at least once year to continue their shenanigans, now annoying Carly just as much as they used to annoy Dan’s father.

Bryan Howe
Groomsman

Established: November 2010

Dan met Bryan at Weston Solutions when he moved down to Austin for work. For a year and a half, they traveled for work together - to as close as South Texas and Louisiana, to as far as Ohio and Pennsylvania. During that time, they also lived together in South Austin, spending their mid-twenties partying in downtown Austin and playing Halo. Even after Bryan moved to Arizona and then Guam, he stayed in weekly contact with Dan over online video games. Now that Bryan lives in Dallas, it’s easier for them to get together...and play video games.
