Transportation

Free Now & Uber
Free Now www.free-now.com/es-en/  & Uber are two of the most popular taxi applications in Greece. Through the app, you can find the best taxi drivers in Athens 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
They operate a taxi and ride-hailing mobile app for smartphones and other mobile devices.

Taxi
Taxis are located located at Exit 3 of the Arrivals halls, and are available 24 hours a day. The journey from the airport to Vouliagmeni hotels takes 20-30 minutes and costs approximately 30 Euro during the day (05:01 - 23:59) and 40 Euro at night (00:00 - 05:00 am); and around 30 minutes to Glyfada. Please note that most taxis do not take cards (you can withdraw money at the airport).

Ceremony
Transportation to and from the wedding venue will be organised for guests staying in Glyfada, Voula and Vouliagmeni. We'll send you the pick up times and locations on the WhatsApp group.

To Swim

Zen Beach
https://zen-beach.gr
One of our favourite beach in Vouliagmeni. Smaller in size than Astir Beach but in the same cove. The beach is protected from the wind and surrounded by lush vegetation. It is a great place if you like snorkelling, swimming or just relaxing on a comfortable deck chair with an Aperol spritz in hand! It also has a small restaurant for lunch or a snack. Call to book your deck chairs and get the best price. Minimum price is around 35 euros for 2 deck chairs with parasol.

Krabo beach
https://krabo.gr/
Very similar to Zen beach, it is 10min away if you would swim from one beach to the next! It has a restaurant for lunch. The food is excellent and you can spend the day on a sun lounger listening to the coolest latest summer tunes.

Astir Beach
www.astir.gr/beach
The most exclusive beach in the area. It has very fine sand, crystal clear waters and comfortable deck chairs with plush cushions. It also tends to be more protected from the wind. In recent years, the price has gone up significantly, so expect to cash out. It can cost anywhere between 25-70 euros, depending on the day of the week and whether you would like to reserve a sun lounger beforehand!

Vouliagmeni Beach
On the opposite side to Astir Beach, Vouliagmeni beach is the more affordable option. It is less exclusive, has less comfortable deck chairs and don’t expect a button to order your cocktails, however it is by far the better value beach. You can still expect crystal clear blue water in a fairly protected cove. There are a couple of cafes to order your iced coffees, beers and snacks. We recommend you to go early during weekends as it gets busy with the locals.

Vouliagmeni Lake
www.limnivouliagmenis.gr/en
Visit Vouliagmeni lake, and take a dip in the natural mineral water that is said to have restorative powers and the average temperature is 21°C. It also has a restaurant on site as well as changing rooms.

The C Beach
www.thec.gr/
This is a relatively new beach in neighbouring Voula. We have not tried it but it was recommended to us. It closer to you if residing in Voula or Glyfada area.

To See

Acropolis & Acropolis Museum
One of the sights to definitely visit when in Athens!
The Acropolis Museum has a total area of 25,000 square meters, with exhibition space of over 14,000 square meters, ten times more than that of the old museum on the Hill of the Acropolis. The new Museum offers all the amenities expected in an international museum of the 21st century. From Glyfada you can take the green T5 tram line and get off at Leoforos Vouliagmenis which is a short walk to the entrance.
www.theacropolismuseum.gr/en

Walk down Dionysiou Areopagitou street
Circular footpath around the acropolis, well worth a wonder for views of the ancient ruins.

Monastiraki
Under the Acropolis hill, Plaka is an area surrounding the ancient ruins, consisting of many shops and restaurants. One of the most popular places for tourists, with both vintage, tourist shops and the best Greek souvlaki! You can take the green T5 tram line all the way from Glyfada to Syntagma (Constitution square) from where you can walk to Monastiraki in approximately 10-15 minutes.

Syntagma square
Watch the Greek guards and take a selfie at the Hellenic Parliament.

Shopping on Ermou Street & Attica department store
Ermou Street is Athens’ main shopping street. A one and a half kilometer-long pedestrian-only street in the neighbourhood of Monastiraki, it’s a good place to pick up a few souvenirs, and also has a lot of the usual shops you’d find on any main city shopping street. Attica is by far the biggest shopping venue in Athens, within walking distance of Ermou street and Syntagma square, well worth a visit if you want everything in one place!

Cape Sounion
Visiting Cape Sounion from Athens is one of the best day trips you can enjoy from the Greek capital. Cape Sounion is famous for the imposing Temple of Poseidon overlooking the Aegean sea. Head up to see the marble temple as it is today, and stay as the sun sets behind the island of Patroklos.
