In July 2015, Blake and Jenna were volunteering at a 3-day Bat Blitz in South Carolina. Blake was living in Georgia at the time and Jenna in Michigan; they kept in touch for a year until Jenna accepted an internship in Georgia the following summer. They were reunited at another Bat Blitz and two weeks later Blake took Jenna on their first date...

Blake was born in Atlanta and raised in Muscle Shoals, Alabama and is the second eldest of six siblings. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 2012 and is a true Alabama football fan (Roll Tide). After graduating with a degree in Natural Resources and Environmental Management, Blake moved to Atlanta and began working as an Environmental Scientist for Calyx. Furthering his education, Blake received his Masters in Natural Resources and Conservation. Blake spends most of his time in the woods whether its for work, hunting or hiking. You can also find him playing video games or following up on the latest with Alabama football.

Jenna was born and raised in Macomb County, Michigan. In 2017, Jenna graduated from Rochester College with a Biology and Chemistry degree. During her time at Rochester College, she worked at a bat conservation taking care of nocturnal critters which led her to attend the 2015 Bat Blitz where she met Blake. Jenna eventually decided she had enough with long distance and was ready for a new adventure, so after graduation she moved to Woodstock, Georgia. Currently, she is working at Triage Consulting in Midtown and continues to pursue her love of environmental education by working at nature centers on the weekend. When she's not working, you can usually find her hiking, trying out a new hobby, or playing with her pup, Zuko.

Blake: "First time I saw Jen I thought she was gorgeous and liked her accent. She gave me a fake number when I asked (8675309), but luckily I managed to get her real one. A few years later, she moved down to Georgia and the rest is history."
Jenna: "The first time I met Blake he came up to me in the cafeteria line to make small talk. I thought he was spunky and very charming...and I loved his southern accent! On the last day of the Bat Blitz, we hung out together during the Bat Blitz Cornhole Tournament. There was something unique about him that I really liked. When I got back to Michigan, I wasn't sure I'd ever see him again but I told my friends I met my future husband."

In the summer of 2016, Blake and Jenna were reunited for the first time at another Bat Blitz, of course! This Bat Blitz was in Cloudland Canyon State Park in Northwest Georgia. Fast forward to January 13, 2018, Blake took Jenna hiking at Cloudland Canyon. When they stopped on a rock bluff looking out over the canyon, Jenna thought Blake was reaching for a snack. Even better than a snack, Blake pulled out a ring, got down on one knee and asked Jenna to be his wife!
