It all started in the beginning of medical school in 2018. I had met Anisha at one of the medical school orientation events at the Andy Warhol museum, and immediately thought, whoah this girl is cool, I'd like to get to know her more! Over the first few months, we formed a small little friend group with Me, Anisha, Tyler and Raeesa and would hang out all the time. The crew was small, but fun! We only had one problem though, I was starting to develop a crush on Anisha....

First year of medical school flew by! I got to know Kevin more and more as friends at first, and I loved how I could be my goofy, weird self around him. About halfway throughout our first year, we went to a comedy show together downtown, and Kevin gave me an envelope. I opened the envelope and there was a handwritten note... will you be my girlfriend? The options were check "yes" and check "YES". I chose the latter.

Soon we were SECOND YEAR MEDICAL STUDENTS! Stressing out about classes but we made sure we always made time for each other! Some memories from the second year of medical school were the Pitt Med Halloween Party (round 2, arguably the best ever), studying for USMLE Step1 in our noisy library, and the Friendsgiving where I offered to make the turkey in Anisha's oven, but inadvertently ruined the oven forever with a misstep in the dripping management. This picture is from the end of February 2020, our last outing together before the pandemic...

By the time third year of medical school came around, Anisha became my rock. Clinical rotations were mentally, physically and emotionally exhausting, and I don't know how I would have gotten through it without Anisha! In the midst of these crazy rotations we still managed to have some memorable moments during our third year, such as a trip to North Carolina to the Party Cloudy Bungalow (Meghana and Sunny's) house for a July 4th baby shower, a trip to the Finger Lakes to sample some world class Riesling, and a 2 week trip to National Parks in the southwest (Zion, Bryce Canyon) and to Seattle. This picture was from Hurricane Ridge, in the Olympic National Park just outside of Seattle. With the sun shining over the glorious snow-capped mountain view, we looked at each other and talked about how amazing it would be if we could move to Seattle to residency...

Our fourth year medical school was filled with excitement, changes, and fun! We were both applying to residency and the couple's match process made the application process stressful. But I knew as long as we had each other we'd make it through. And as we always, do, we tried our best to find a way to keep things fun and exciting. Despite our busy schedules, in the middle of interview/application season we managed to sneak away to England to go sightseeing/eating/shopping in London and go to our friends' wedding in Harrogate (Northern England) which this photo is from!

The proposal was a LONG planned event. We convinced Anisha that JP's (our friend) dad bought him a group photoshoot the day AFTER match day (when our families would both be in town). In reality I had booked the photographer. So we got to the photoshoot that day and started with some group shots. About 10 minutes in, as I arranged with the photographer, I had her ask, "Are there any couples in the group? Would you guys like some photos?" A couple minutes into our shoot I got down on one knee and asked Anisha to be my wife, and well the rest, so they say, is history...

To this day Kevin still thinks I knew about the proposal but, in reality, I had NO idea. He planned it so far in advance I thought for sure JP's dad booked a photoshoot for us (I may be very gullible). After he proposed I couldn't stop smiling! We went back to my parent's airbnb and waiting for us were all of our close friends and family ready celebrate! It was truly such a special day!

For our first year after medical school, we were separated across the country as I was living in Connecticut doing my preliminary year and Anisha had alrady moved to Seattle! However, a highlight of our year was the intimate traditional Hindu ceremony with family on December 02, 2022! We're looking forward to our Big Day in 2023, when we get to celebrate with all of you!
- Anisha & Kevin

How did you first meet? We first met at a medical school orientation event at the Andy Warhol museum and became friends soon afterwards!
Who's going to take out the trash? Anisha is the cleaner one, but Kevin likes to keep Anisha happy so we'll see!
Where are you going for your honeymoon? To be determined, hopefully somewhere with a good combination of adventure and relaxation.
What's the best meal you have eaten together? The best meals we have had may have been the Indian-fusion dishes that we had during our trip to London!
What's the most memorable trip you have taken together? In April 2022, at the end of medical school we went to Italy and Greece with our medical school friends on a three week trip!
We’re on the same page about...Having a life that is filled with family, friends, serving our community, and adventure!
The dorkiest thing about us is...We both love studying!!!
