The Baltimore-Washington International Airport is ~20 minute drive from the Inner Harbor.

The Baltimore Amtrak and MARC (commuter rail from Washington DC and from BWI Airport) station is a 10-minute drive or 30-minute bus/walk commute from the Inner Harbor.

While blue crabs can be found in the waters along the entire East Coast, Marylanders have perfected the art of eating them. In fact, approximately 50% of the country’s blue crab comes from the Chesapeake Bay.

A traditional steamed crab feast is best enjoyed outside, accompanied by all the trimmings such as Old Bay seasoning, melted butter, and corn on the cob.

Some longtime local favorites include Captain James Landing, Phillips Seafood, L.P. Steamers and Bo Brooks.

If you don’t want to go through all the work of picking your own crabs, your next best bet is a crab cake (jumbo lump and no filler whenever possible). Faidley’s Seafood has been serving softball sized crab cakes since 1886. Oprah Winfrey (who started her career in Baltimore) is a big fan of Pappas Seafood Co. crab cakes. Seasoned locals might also mention Costas Inn, Gertrude’s (which also offers a vegan option), Jimmy’s Famous Seafood and Koco’s Pub.

Transport yourself to the underwater wonders of the world at the National Aquarium. The aquarium offers awe-inspiring exhibits that are sure to wow you. Located in the Inner Harbor, you’ll find thousands of species in award-winning habitats. From colorful aquatic characters like sharks, dolphins, exotic fish to diverse collections of plants and animals like crocodiles, birds and reptiles, the National Aquarium delivers a memorable experience for people of any age.

Admission to the aquarium is timed, so you will need to choose your date and time before you purchase a ticket. Admission includes all-day access to exhibits and daily presentations. On weekends and holidays, try to time your visit before 11 a.m. or after 3 p.m. Guests may tour up to 90 minutes after the last entry time.

Best known for its role in the War of 1812, when American troops defeated a British navy fleet, the site was also the inspiration for “The Star-Spangled Banner,” written by Francis Scott Key, who witnessed the battle and America’s victory. Located in the Locust Point neighborhood of Baltimore and set within a 42-acre park, Fort McHenry includes a visitor and education center, exhibits displaying war artifacts, and a variety of ranger programs.

There’s a $15 charge to enter the fort for everyone age 16 and up, and your ticket is good for seven days. Free parking is available, and the park is also accessible by public transportation and by the Baltimore Water Taxi. Feel free to bring your own picnic lunch, as there’s no fee to enjoy the park grounds.

If you did not know, Will's favorite movie is Master and Commander, and his dream is to have an office filled with historic ship paintings. Lucky for him, Baltimore has one of the most impressive collections of military vessels in the world.

Located within easy walking distance of each other, the Historic Ships collection includes four historic boats and a unique 1856 lighthouse with terrific views of the Baltimore Harbor. Explore the gun deck and captain’s cabin on the USS Constellation, discover the torpedo room and tight living quarters of the USS Submarine Torsk, ask crewmembers questions, and more.
