Where to Stay in Rome

Monti:
Monti is an eclectic neighborhood in the city center, with both bohemian and classical elements. Family-run trattorias, hip wine bars and funky vintage boutiques are tucked in its piazzas and back streets.
Monti is central to the city centre (10 min walk to the Colloseum) but will offer cheaper accommodation compared to other areas.

Trastevere:
Colorful Trastevere is a funky, bohemian area that clings to its centuries-old, working-class roots. It's known for traditional and innovative trattorias, craft beer pubs and lively night life.  Another cost effective area to consider!

Places to Visit in the Area

Marche

Le Marche is a seaside region, between the Apennine Mountains and the Adriatic Sea. Ancona, its capital, is a port city on the Riviera del Conero, an area with sandy coves, limestone cliffs and medieval villages. Pesaro is the birthplace of renowned opera composer Rossini. The interior has countryside dotted with fortified hilltop settlements and the glaciated valleys of the Monti Sibillini National Park.

Umbria

Similar to Tuscany but not as touristy, Umbria is a region bordering Tuscany, Lazio and Le Marche. Often called the country's green heart, it’s known for its medieval hill towns, dense forests and local cuisine, particularly foraged truffles and wines.  This is also home to Orvieto, the location of our wedding!
