Flights

Getting In

We recommend flying into Cape Town International Airport!

Transportation

Getting Downtown

There are lots of ways to get into downtown Cape Town! The easiest options are Uber and Bolt, which are inexpensive and run 24/7. If you are feeling more adventurous, there are several car rental options including Avis, Hertz, Sixt, Budget, and more. Be sure to ask for an automatic if needed - the South African standard is manual.

Things to Do

Cape Town Bucket List

You could spend a weekend, a month, a year in Cape Town - and never run out of things to do and see! Our personal favorites are riding the Table Mountain Cable Car, a drive through Cape Point Nature Reserve, visiting the penguins at Boulders Beach, wine-tasting at Babylonstoren, an afternoon picnic in Kirstenbosch Gardens, tanning in the white sands of Clifton Beach, and a day of tastings at the Spice Route in Paarl.

Here's another fabulous list of to-do's: https://insideguide.co.za/cape-town/to-do/

High Season

It's Summertime!

Summer is the high season in Cape Town, falling between the months of Nov-Feb. Please make your arrangements as soon as possible for the best rates and availability.

Safari

Catching the Big Five

We've personally enjoyed safaris at all three options, and highly recommend booking with these locations and their sister lodges. These recommendations all require flights across the country and are not low-budget.

Hamiltons Tented Camp

Motswari

Sabi Sands Game Reserve

However, if you're looking for something within driving distance of Cape Town [or you can use their shuttle services] we'd recommend our close-to-home lodge Aquila. Perfect for a single night's stay, and friendly on the wallet!

Local Services

African Sky Safaris and Tours

We have an incredible local travel agency who's assisted us with booking extensive safaris tours on past trips to South Africa. For those looking to craft an incredible, personalized tour please reach out to Andrew Harvey: andrew@africansky.com

African Sky has limitless options covering Cape Town day tours, Garden Route getaways, and safari specialties. Andrew can also assist with group discounts once services have been requested.

Childcare

Don't Forget the Little Ones

If you're still planning to bring your little ones to SA, Alicia from Holiday Nannies provides an incredible local babysitting and Au Pair service. Her sitters are amazing, first aid trained, and educare trained so your kiddos will be in great hands. Her email is: info@holidaynannies.co.za

Shuttles

Designated Drivers

If you're planning to drink at the wedding, we strongly suggest that you pre-arrange round-trip shuttles to Bosjes. There are extremely limited Ubers in this area, so please avoid trying to book on the night! Our local recommendation is Chris from Dtrack Tours & Transfers, who is standing by to assist our guests. It's best to contact him on WhatsApp at +27 83 377 6614 or ‎dtracktours@gmail.com.

Dining

The Pot Luck Club

A must-see spectacular view, paired with tapas-style plates and incredible cocktails.

FYN

Another incredible culinary experience, right in the heart of the city. One of our favorite tasting menus.

La Colombe

No stranger to S.Pellegrino’s World’s 50 Best Restaurants, we recommend you take the wine pairing. Be sure to come with an empty stomach!

Beau Constantia

Abby's favorite birthday venue, and with good reason. You'll never find a tastier white wine! Perfect for an hour-long tasting session, or if you book in advance, stay for dinner at Chef's Warehouse downstairs. You won't be disappointed.

Franschhoek Wine Tram

A hop-on hop-off wine tram through the gorgeous Franschhoek Valley - you can taste at up to six wineries in a single day, with no designated driver required!
